Topic #1

Many a debate has started over this topic. I think a lot of people have their own opinions on this. The crazy thing about this question or misconception is that the doll hobby has so many ways to get dolls now. You can browse a second hand market, put a doll on layaway, find an ABS/vinyl doll for an affordable price, etc.

 Topic #2

Back in the day (I feel like I am really old haha) people used to be accused of being VOLKS snobs. There was also this huge negative cloud about dolls like Bobobie and Resinsoul because they were so ā€œcheapā€. Iā€™ve heard people talk about their experiences at doll meets and feeling this kind of vibe. Of course my back in the day was when I first joined in 2009. It has been over 10 years now since thenā€¦so what are your thoughts? Does this still exist?

Topic #3

The second hand market has definitely evolved over the years. Even the way we are able to send money to other people electronically has vastly changed. With technology constantly changing and growing there are more platforms and services people can turn to and use. There are even multiple pages that people can create feedback for people they do business with. So is it really easier and safer?

Topic #4

This topic actually had popped up on the BJD Addicts group online. There is some mixed thoughts on this topic for sure. It may be a matter of perspective or understanding who is in our community. Is there not enough hype? Are platforms active enough? Are doll companies putting out product? What are your thoughts on this?

Topic #5

There has been a rise of small independent artists making their own dolls or products. They offer pre-orders or sell completed projects that no one has ever seen before. There are some amazing and unique items being created by these artists! Can you put a price on art? What is reasonable price to pay for something that is new and never been seen before?

Lingering thoughts?
